Don’t miss Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System’s August events. This month, cancer survivors and their loved ones can learn about resources available through Gibbs Cancer Center’s survivorship program. Expectant mothers can prepare for their childbirth experience in one of our prenatal classes. Take a class to learn ways to keep your child safe while in a vehicle. 

All online events are hosted in Microsoft Teams. You must register to receive an email link to join prior to the scheduled event date. 

Table for Two — Online Breastfeeding Support Group 

Wednesdays in August, 11:30 – 12:30 p.m. 

Online Support Group 

Table for Two is a weekly, casual gathering for breastfeeding mothers to talk with other moms, discuss concerns and learn tips on breastfeeding. Attendance is encouraged after your baby is 2 weeks old. Call 864-560-BABY for more information. Click on the link above to register. 

Prepared Breastfeeding 

Monday, Aug. 2, 6 – 8 p.m. 

Tuesday, Aug. 17, 6 – 8 p.m. 
Online Class 

This two-hour class will help you get a healthy start to breastfeeding your newborn. Learn about milk production, feeding cues, latching techniques, milk storage and problem-solving tips for successful breastfeeding. This class is taught by a certified lactation consultant. Please feel free to include your spouse or support person. Call 864-560-BABY for more information. Living Life After a Cancer Diagnosis

Learn about the survivorship program offered at Gibbs Cancer Center and Research Institute from Stacey Williams, program coordinator. If you would like to hear the discussion, but are not able to join the live session, please register and a link to view the recording will be emailed to you. Child Passenger Safety Seat – Virtual Inspection 

Thursday, August 5, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. 
Virtual meeting 

Safe Kids of the Piedmont and Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System wants to make sure your child’s car seat is properly installed. Click on the link above to register. After you register, our certified child passenger safety technician will contact you to set up an appointment time. Virtual inspections are hosted in Microsoft Teams or via a FaceTime call. 

Prevent T2 Diabetes — Information Session

Weight Loss Surgery Support Group 

Tuesday, Aug. 10, 6 – 6:30 p.m. 
Online Support Group 

An Upstate area support group for patients in all phases of the surgical weight loss process. Network with others who have experienced similar challenges with the lifestyle changes necessary to lose weight and keep it off successfully. Click on the date above to register.

Online Class 

Learn everything you need to know about the childbirth process and the options available to you during pregnancy, labor and delivery. The information you learn in this comprehensive, fact-based class will help reduce your anxiety and help you have a more positive birth experience. Prepared Parents: Infant Care 

Thursday, Aug. 12, 6 – 8 p.m. 

Online Class 

Designed to prepare expectant parents for their baby’s impending arrival, this class teaches routine care for a newborn. Just the Ticket: Child Car Safety Course 

Monday, Aug. 16, 4 – 5 p.m. 

Online Class 

Learn about South Carolina’s child passenger safety laws and ways to keep your child safe while in a vehicle. Attendees who have violations of the child passenger occupant law on their records can receive a certificate of completion as proof of participation. Click on the link above to register. 

Diabetes Wellness Circle 

Tuesday, Aug. 17, 12 – 1 p.m. 
Online Support Group 

A monthly online support group intended to support, encourage and educate anyone living with diabetes. Each session will contain 30 minutes of education followed by 30 minutes of discussion. If you, a loved one or family member has been diagnosed with diabetes, you are encouraged to join. Click on the link above to register.
