Priceless gifts

By Alan Jenkins on April 21, 2017

One of the greatest gifts any person has to give is time. Volunteers for Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System have donated hundreds of thousands of hours to serve patients and their families.

To say their service is valuable is an understatement. But here are a few things to know about the tremendous impact our volunteers make:

  • In the last fiscal year, volunteers contributed 20,516 hours.
  • Their contribution saved Spartanburg Regional $473,309.88.
  • Since 2008, volunteers at Pelham Medical Center have contributed more than $1 million worth of volunteer hours.
  • There are 209 active volunteers that serve at Spartanburg Medical Center and in hospice care. At Pelham Medical Center, over 60 people volunteer; Union Medical Center has 18 volunteers.
