A new way to give: vehicle donations

By Jessica Pickens on June 26, 2017

From the Dodge Caravan that got you through the annual family road trip to the El Camino — now dormant in your backyard — that took you on your first date, cars hold a special place in our memory. But when a vehicle no longer starts or isn't reliable, you may not be sure how to get rid of it.

Now, your old vehicle can help someone in the community through the Spartanburg Regional Foundation.

The Foundation is offering a new and easy way to give back through the Vehicle Donation Program. You can donate any vehicle – car, motorcycle, boat or RV – and your contribution will benefit community health and support patients of Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System. Donations are tax deductible and are as simple as a phone call or click of the mouse.

“We are always looking for ways to make it easy and convenient to give,” said Kristy Caradori, executive director of the Foundation. “The vehicle donation program makes it possible to clean out your garage and get a tax write-off while making a positive difference for others.”

Spartanburg Regional Foundation supports a wide range of efforts to strengthen Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System: technological upgrades and innovations, capital projects, educational outreach, direct patient assistance, and more. The Foundation has special funds focused on cancer prevention and treatment, heart health, and hospice care.

Unless otherwise specified, vehicle donations will contribute to the Foundation's general fund, which supports an annual grants program and ongoing investments in the health of the community.
