Don’t miss Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System’s May events. We are pleased to be easing back to in-person events while still offering virtual options. Expectant mothers can prepare for their childbirth experience in one of our prenatal classes. Be prepared with life-saving techniques to help someone who is injured and severely bleeding. Learn how to recognize the signs and symptoms of a stroke.

All online events are hosted in Microsoft Teams. You must register to receive an email link to join prior to the scheduled event date. 

Prepared Breastfeeding 

Monday, May 2, 6 – 8 p.m. 
Tuesday, May 17, 6 – 8 p.m. 

Online Class 

This two-hour class will help you get a healthy start to breastfeeding your newborn. Learn about milk production, feeding cues, latching techniques, milk storage and problem-solving tips for successful breastfeeding. This class is taught by a certified lactation consultant. Online Class 

Learn everything you need to know about the childbirth process and the options available to you during pregnancy, labor and delivery. The information you learn in this comprehensive, fact-based class will help reduce your anxiety and help you have a more positive birth experience. Better Bone Health 

Monday, May 16, 12 – 1 p.m. 
Virtual Webinar 

Learn the risk factors for developing osteoporosis, medical screenings and tests used to help defect the disease and ways to slow or stop the progress. Click on the date above to register. 

 

Just the Ticket: Child Passenger Safety 

Monday, May 16, 4 – 5 p.m. 
Online Class 

This class is designed specifically for violators of the child passenger occupant law. This class covers information about South Carolina’s child passenger laws, the safest way to secure your child in a vehicle, proper car seat installation, when to update or replace your child’s car seat and other safety tips to help keep your child safe on the road.
