Don’t miss Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System’s January events. This month, expectant mothers can prepare for their childbirth experience in one of our prenatal classes. Those with diabetes can get support from others living with the disease. Anyone can receive guidance on advance care planning from certified facilitators.

All events are online and hosted in Microsoft Teams. You must register to receive an email link to join prior to the scheduled event date.

Table for Two — Online Breastfeeding Support Group 

Wednesdays in January, 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. 
Online Support Group 

Table for Two is a weekly, casual gathering for breastfeeding mothers and their babies to talk with other moms, discuss concerns and learn tips on breastfeeding. Attendance is encouraged after your baby is 2 weeks old. Call 864-560-BABY for more information. Click on the link above to register. 

Prepared Breastfeeding 

Monday, Jan. 4, 6 – 8 p.m. 

Tuesday, Jan. 19, 6 – 8 p.m. 
Online Class 

This two-hour class will help you get a healthy start to breastfeeding your newborn. You will learn about milk production, feeding cues, latching techniques, milk storage and problem-solving tips for successful breastfeeding. This class is taught by a certified lactation consultant. Prepared Childbirth 

Tuesday, Jan. 12, 6 – 8:30 p.m. 

Thursday, Jan. 28, 6 – 8:30 p.m. 
Online Class 

Learn everything you need to know about the childbirth process and the options available to you during pregnancy, labor and delivery. The information you learn in this comprehensive, fact-based class will help reduce your anxiety and help you have a more positive birth experience. A Beginner’s Guide to Whole Food, Plant-Based Nutrition 

Wednesday, Jan. 13, 12 – 1 p.m. 
Online Webinar 

The evidence continues to show that a whole-food, plant-based diet can help prevent and treat chronic illnesses, such as Type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, obesity and even heart disease. A diabetes educator will share the principles and benefits of a whole food, plant-based diet and provide tips to help get started. Click on the link above to register. 

Prepared Parents: Infant Care 

Thursday, Jan. 14, 6 – 8 p.m. 

Online Class 

Designed to prepare expectant parents for their baby’s impending arrival, this class teaches routine care for a newborn. Topics include breastfeeding, diapering, bathing, medical and safety information, and much more. Please feel free to include your spouse or support person. Call 864-560-BABY for more information. Diabetes Wellness Circle 

Tuesday, Jan. 19, 12 – 1 p.m. 
Online Support Group 

A monthly online support group intended to support, encourage and educate anyone living with diabetes. Each session will contain 30 minutes of education followed by 30 minutes of discussion. If you, a loved one or family member has been diagnosed with diabetes, you are encouraged to join. Click on the link above to register. 

Heart Matters Support Group 

Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2 – 3 p.m. 
Online Support Group

Weight Loss Support Group

Online Support Group

Let’s Talk About Advance Care Planning 

Friday, Jan. 22, 12 – 1 p.m. 
Online Class 

This interactive virtual help session offers guidance on how to create a plan for your own care. Our certified advance care plan facilitators will break down the South Carolina Health Care Power of Attorney, assist you in completing forms and answer your questions. Do you have questions about whole food, plant-based nutrition? We have the answers to help get you started.
